Position Summary

Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools and, CNC machines and Cam driven Bar Machines.• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.• Change offsets on CNC Machines.• Read and understand blueprints.• Utilize precision instrumentation and gages to verify product quality and integrity.• Move completed parts per standard work processes.• Complete appropriate documentation to track production and quality outputs.• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.• All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials and Previous Experience:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Minimum of six months of on-site training as a machine operator or 3 years of related work experience as amachinistTechnical Depth and Breadth:• Working knowledge of machine setup, and tool changes.• Basic ability to read and understand blueprints.• Working knowledge of gages and measurement techniques.• Basic understanding of CNC codes.• Basic knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and otherbusiness applications.Problem Solving and Analytical Skills:• Perform tasks with little supervision.• Able to effectively work on and manage multiple tasks daily, communicate professionally with co-workers,show flexibility to learn multiple jobs within the department, and show aptitude to perform essential jobfunctions listed above.• Actively participate in improvement activities and Lean projects.An assessment may be requiredTeamwork and Interpersonal Skills:• Dependable, prompt and reliable with good overall attendance• Demonstrate ability to get along with others; behave professionally; treat all coworkers with respect anddignity consistent with Parker Values and Code of Conduct.• Actively participate; gain cooperation and trust; and deal with conflicts effectively.• Maintain well organized 5S work area.Communication/Contact with Others:• Able to read, understand and follow written & verbal instructions and directions in English.• Keep others informed, provide accurate and timely feedback, communicate clearly, listen and be receptiveto feedback.Physical Demands:With or without reasonable accommodation:• Required to stand or walk for extended periods of time, up to 8 to 10 hours per day.• Required to work around manufacturing operations with exposure to noise, fumes, heavy machinery, andother shop-related hazards.• Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of material (up to 26 lbs.).• Use of Personal Protective Equipment as required, may include safety glasses, safety shoes, hearingprotection, and/or any other equipment deemed necessary.
