HVOF Operator - 1st shift
Job Description:

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bells High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor. This position is onsite in Fort Worth.

HVOF Operator

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General and day-to day preparation, adjusting program offsets and parameters, operation, teach pendant modification, maintaining the spray gun, and care for high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spray systems
  • Maintain and use precision calibrated tools including balances, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • General upkeep of thermal spray system and all associated areas, including cleaning, organization, inventory management, etc.
  • Assist in creating detailed equipment parameters and setup
  • Train new personnel as needed and in accordance with lead pay language listed in the CBA
  • Observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions
Job Requirements:

What you need to be successful

  • Experience with metal powder handling/prep or experience preparing/operating/maintaining air plasma, high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF), or cold spray systems
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow detailed technical work instructions and blueprints
  • Understanding and experience in the use of inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
  • Able to operate in non-temperature-controlled environment
  • Able to properly handle and use flammable fuels and gases
  • Must be able to wear a respirator or N95 mask and any relevant PPE associated with handling of heavy metals
  • Experience in operating robots and teach pendant knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred that candidate is familiar with industry robot standard RIA 1506

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Metallic/ceramic coating experience strongly preferred
  • Experience programming and operating ABB robots strongly preferred (Experience with RobotStudio programming software a plus)
  • Ability to multitask and rapidly change roles and responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging, work environment
  • Familiar with (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SAP/CAMS, bedvue
  • Experience using various types of hand tools and/or power tools

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to wear appropriate PPE for heavy metal exposure
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs unassisted. Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Majority of work requires standing for long periods of time
