Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long‑standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.
As HR Business Partner, you will provide senior, site‑based HR leadership and partnering, supporting business performance through effective people strategy delivery. Working closely with site leadership teams, employees and Trade Union representatives, you will play a key role in enabling operational effectiveness and organisational change within a complex manufacturing environment.
How you will contribute to the team
You will:
- Provide strategic and operational HR partnering to the site, aligned to business plans and organisational priorities across the full employee lifecycle.
- Lead and develop the HR Advisory team, ensuring consistent, high‑quality people support and effective case management across the organisation.
- Act as a key point of contact for Trade Union engagement, working in partnership with representatives to support employee relations, consultation and change activity.
- Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and people plans that meet operational requirements and support a fair, consistent and legally compliant approach to people management.
- Advise and coach leaders on people‑related matters, applying sound judgement and professional expertise within a unionised, safety‑critical environment.
Requirements for the role
You will have:
- A broad working knowledge of UK employment law and core HR practices, with experience advising managers in a unionised environment.
- Experience operating as a generalist HR practitioner within a complex, operational organisation, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
- Demonstrable experience supporting trade union engagement, employee relations and organisational change.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent demonstrable experience operating at HR Business Partner level.
