De Havilland Canada is seeking a passionate, creative, and motivated Digital Communications Summer Student to join our Marketing and Communications team for four (4) months. This is an exciting opportunity for a student interested in corporate communications, spaneting, and storytelling to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic and supportive team.
As a summer student, you will assist with a variety of communications activities aimed at engaging employees, promoting company initiatives, and supporting our brand presence. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and excited about contributing to both internal and external communications projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in maintaining and updating content on the company intranet to help keep employees informed and engaged.• Support the creation and scheduling of posts for DHC’s social media platforms, including writing captions and sourcing visuals.• Help maintain the corporate website by reviewing and updating content, images, and videos to ensure accuracy and relevance.• Assist in organizing and cataloguing digital assets, including photos, templates, and communication materials.• Support the development of content for employee newsletters, internal campaigns, and special events.• Monitor social media channels and assist in responding to public inquiries with support from the communications team.• Contribute to the planning and support of communications around trade shows and events.• Participate in brainstorming sessions and team meetings, bringing creative ideas and fresh perspectives to communications strategies.
Skills and Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and creativity.• Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram) and basic content creation tools.• Organized, enthusiastic, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.• Interest in digital communications and storytelling, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.• Previous experience with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) or content management systems (e.g., WordPress, SharePoint) is an asset but not required.
