The C4IA Technology & Strategy Engineering team is seeking an experienced Command and Control (C2) Enterprise Architect. In this role, you will design and implement innovative solutions to enhance C2 capabilities, applying deep expertise in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, hardware, software, and AI/ML. You will translate complex requirements into actionable architecture designs that drive mission success.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and refine enterprise architecture frameworks for C2 systems, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and strategic goals
- Lead the development and execution of technology roadmaps and long-term strategies for C2 systems, ensuring alignment with business priorities and corporate vision
- Collaborate across functional teams to define a clear architecture vision, translating stakeholder needs into integrated solutions that span hardware, software, and AI/ML technologies
- Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing C2 architectures that leverage cutting-edge technologies and real-time data analytics
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies—including advanced hardware, software platforms, and AI/ML tools—to enhance system capability, agility, and interoperability
- Produce clear and effective architectural documentation, including models, diagrams, and technical specifications, for diverse audiences across the organization
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring architectural designs are implemented according to best practices in systems engineering and design standards
- Conduct technology and architecture risk assessments, developing proactive mitigation strategies to ensure system resilience and mission continuity
- Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in C2, enterprise architecture, and AI/ML, integrating relevant advancements into architecture strategy
- Lead training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to build internal capabilities and promote a culture of innovation in C2 architecture and technology integration
What You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a focus on C2 systems and systems engineering
- Previous experience with C2 processes, systems and technologies, including hardware and software components, AI/ML methodologies, and data analytics applications
- Previous experience in developing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks
- Experience in modeling languages and tools
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make decisions based on sound judgement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, as well as communication with C-Suite executives
- Experience with cloud computing and data-centric architectures
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as they relate to C2 systems
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Experience in integrating AI/ML solutions within C2 frameworks

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
