STS Technical Services is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor (Service & Parts) in Pontiac, Michigan to oversee warehouse operations and drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness benchmarks. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who understand warehouse workflows and possess strong leadership skills to manage, support, and motivate a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support hourly warehouse employees to ensure team success
- Address employee concerns and counsel as needed to maintain morale and compliance
- Recognize and reward positive performance behaviors while discouraging negative ones
- Use the Quality Network problem-solving process to address operational challenges
- Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) principles to optimize warehouse layouts and efficiency
- Maintain accurate payroll processing through daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates
- Utilize A-3 reporting for structured problem-solving in line with plant guidelines
- Conduct daily team meetings to review performance and encourage two-way communication
- Perform and document weekly safety observation tours
- Plan and allocate daily workloads to meet production and distribution targets
- Enforce plant policies and shop rules, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements
- Conduct Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) audits and maintain compliance standards
- Support and mentor employees through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process
- Keep General Supervisor and Shop Committee informed of departmental updates and progress
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; additional technical or business school training preferred
- Skilled trade training or equivalent technical background is desirable
- 10+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing operations
- Solid understanding of scheduling systems, production metrics, and workforce management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High-level analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control procedures
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage teams effectively
- Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes and technology relevant to the assigned area
