Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the flow of materials across departments and shifts using a pull system, auditing and modifying processes as production demands or capacity change.
- Maintain short- and long-term production plans to support staffing, budgeting, and material planning needs.
- Collaborate strategically across departments and functions, influencing higher leaders and driving actions to closure.
- Identify trends and opportunities within Daily Management, proactively driving changes and improvements without assistance.
- Facilitate improvement events of larger scope, spanning multiple shifts, and implement solutions to address production constraints.
- Utilize Lean manufacturing knowledge to continuously improve the function of the Lean Model Line and coach others on APPS and Lean principles.
- Clearly convey production priorities, line status, and performance expectations to stakeholders, team leads, and shop floor technicians.
- Mentor team leaders and technicians, fostering talent development and building consensus around key topics.
- Represent the operations team in management of change processes for Lean model lines, driving strategic projects as development opportunities.
- Utilize analytical thinking and technical expertise to monitor production flow, identify issues, and implement solutions.
- Escalate issues when necessary to overcome obstacles and ensure alignment with production plans and KPIs.
- Audit and optimize inventory levels to support production efficiency and minimize waste.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years experience in manufacturing leadership or Lean professional role)
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
