Northrop Grumman Defense Systems’ (NGDS) Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division is seeking an Operations Deputy Director 2 supporting Division Vice President of Operations. This position is location in Roy, Utah, and will require approximately 25 travel.
The SDS Operations organization has a very wide breadth of responsibilities including Global Supply Chain, Production Operations, Safety, Mission Assurance, Site Management and Strategy and is home of the Project Excellence Homeroom. The Deputy Director of Operations will have accountability for day-to-day down and in execution of the organization and will be critical to supporting the Project Excellence Homeroom and Operations organizations’ responsibilities. The position reports directly to the SDS Operations Vice President. Strong team collaboration, effective communication and exemplar leadership characteristics are essential.
Partner with the Operations VP, Chief Engineer Office and organizational Directors to lead all aspects of day-to-day Operations across the portfolio focusing on taking advantage of efficiencies of the combined organization.
Focus on supporting critical program requests, program reviews, Defense Sector PE initiatives, and provide leadership direction of developing and implementing training and ensure process documentation is current and accessible.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Proven experience and extensive knowledge of three or more of the following: Global Supply Chain, Production Operations, Safety, Mission Assurance, Site Management and Strategy, and Project Management Homeroom
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience in all Operations areas: Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Ground Systems, Integration and Test, Environmental Test, Safety and Mission Assurance, Site Operations and Facilities
Experience leading day-to-day operations on complex programs or large functional organizations, with proven collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholder organizations
Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity management
Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of being able to create trusted relationships, and an inclusive work environment that attracts, retain and inspire diverse and engaged teams.
Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization
Salary Range: $184,600.00 - $276,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
