The Director Accessory Division has overall responsibility for the management and administration of MTU-C’s Accessory business. Typical duties and responsibilities include the coordination of all cross-functional activities (Production, Logistics, Sales/Customer Support, Engineering) required to provide the required accessory services within the MTU-Group as well as for external customers. In addition, to guiding and supporting employees in the department, the Director’s role is to provide expertise in supporting department and company goal achievement, and to recommend and implement process improvements.
General duties:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the Accessory Centre to accomplish the goals identified for the department
- Co-ordinate the MTU-C Accessory activities with business strategies in order to improve MTU-C overall achievement
- Coordinate the technical and procedural standards for test, repair and overhaul of accessories
- Maintain budget for department
- Set, monitor and report to the CEO the KPIs for the accessory department; align department KPIs with goals & objectives on corporate and division level
- Ensure audit awareness and compliance are to the appropriate aviation and MTU standards
- Communicate and work with other managers to streamline the accessory departments efforts with other areas, both as an internal customer and vendor
- Coordinate training of department employees, both unionized and salary, to ensure multi-tasking is optimized to maintain a high level of proficiency and adherence to the Canadian Ministry of Transport Airworthiness Standards
Operational duties:
- Coordinate, coach, monitor, supervise and direct employees in four functional work areas (Production, Logistics, Sales/Customer Support, Engineering) on a daily basis to achieve goals and targets in meeting internal and external customer expectations
- Organize and utilize the available resources to support the performance of the individual functional teams
- Approve staff requirements for all work locations
- Direct and lead staff in the implementation of strategic goals; set priorities, motivate, guide and mentor direct reports, clearly communicate goals and expectations to staff and make sure the department functions within the parameters set by departmental and company policies
Strategic duties:
- Determine the MTU-C Accessory strategy and coordinate Accessory activities
- Guide, support, and train employees in the department
- Develop, with the CEO and CCO, a strategy for the development of the Accessory business at MTU-SV, including decisions on product portfolio, organizational structure, in- outsourcing of capabilities, etc.
- Coordinate Sales & Marketing activities for the Vancouver Accessory division
- MBA and 4-5 years experience in Operations, preferable in production or maintenance environment
- or Bachelor/University degree in a Business/Engineering related area and >6 years experience in Operations, preferable in production or maintenance environment
- Leadership experience is an asset
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Operation System Windows
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP production specific functions/transactions
- Preferable second language depending on customer requirements
