What You Will Do

  • Evaluate spanet conditions to maintain inventory levels and control costs and make recommendations for cost reduction
  • Evaluate and recommend suppliers, manage ongoing relationships with suppliers.
  • Act on behalf of Landing Systems as the owner of commercial relationship with strategic suppliers.
  • Ensure commodity souring strategies are updated annually for Landing Systems.
  • Develop, negotiate and administer supplier contracts.
  • Develop the annual Long Range Plan for suppliers across the business and drive the strategies to support the Strategic Financial Plan for the business.
  • Owner of product transitions between suppliers, coordinating technical meetings between multiple entities.
  • Coordinate supplier improvement activities including continuous improvement (CI) events.
  • Perform strategic sourcing activities in support of customer request or internal projects including sending out RFQs, reviewing responses, supplier selection, coordination with estimating and Program Management and PO or contract file documentation. Ensure these activities meet all Collins and applicable government (FAR) requirements.
  • Organize, lead, and manage supplier meetings regarding strategic initiatives, new work placed at the supplier, performance issues (cost, delivery, and quality) and routine program or business reviews.
  • Coordinate/support supply-based transitions.
  • Manage key metrics and drivers for Landing Systems through a matrixed organization of commodity managers.
  • Communicate and deliver continued quality assurance and process improvement presentations to senior leadership.
  • Approximately 25 travel domestically and internationally.
  • Perform expedites at suppliers, when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
  • 7 or more years of experience utilizing ERP/MRP software (for example SAP, NetSuite, Acumatica, Epicor etc.).
  • 7 or more years of experience in Commodity Management, Supply Chain, or Procurement with increasing levels of responsibility.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Working knowledge of: certified Cost and Pricing requirements, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) requirements on Government Orders, DDTC requirements for Military orders, Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) requirements for single/sole source Military orders, Negotiations of single/sole source Military orders, and experience in Government Audits.
  • Experience establishing credibility with business counterparts.
  • Experience managing or leading projects or programs including contract negotiations with minimal supervision.
  • Experience developing tactical plans and carrying through to successful execution.
  • Experience managing multiple commodities.
  • Experience with Best Cost sourcing.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing techniques and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel 25 of the time, domestically and internationally.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
