POSITION PURPOSE
Assists manager in monitoring the Aircraft On Ground (AOG) department responsible for sourcing and coordinating logistics of critical parts requirements, ensuring a source of supply through all means necessary: purchase, transfer, borrow, exchange and expediting orders.

- Coordinates work activity and ensures that service levels are maintained; assigns and distributes responsibilities and monitors individual progress and performance, as well as overall performance.
- Handles escalated issues related to parts, repair, transportation/movement and aircraft discrepancies.
- Ensures that performance metrics are accurately reported and proactively managed and improved where possible.
- Ensures team provides excellent and timely customer service to Maintenance Control, Purchasing, MRO Managers, Planning and Material Services.
- Serves as liaison between Purchasing, Repair / Warranty, Material Services and Maintenance Control.
- Leads projects to enhance the operations of the department.
- Participates in the daily Operations meeting to communicate status of requested materials.
- Supports maintenance with critical part requirements by borrowing or loaning parts from other airlines to fulfill variable demands that impact the operation of the Company.
- Creates loans and rental orders for Supply Chain. Reviews billing for accuracy. Analyzes potential airline loan rates and negotiates rates.
- Ensures that loan and borrow program is within monthly budget.
- Supervises the movement of freight via the domestic and international transportation network. Ensures strategies are in place to lower the cost of transportation and increase efficiency of transfers within Supply Chain.
- Ensures that loan and borrow program is within monthly budget.
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
- Assists manager as directed and performs the manager’s duties when the manager is absent. Performs the duties of AOG Analyst as needed.
- Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential associates. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff. Schedules associates to ensure adequate coverage.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor’s degree required plus at least 3 years of experience in airline industry or supply chain or related area.
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office products and dashboards.
- Able to analyze cost drivers and develop/implement cost reduction strategies.
- Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days-off
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in a related field such as Aviation, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Purchasing, etc.
- Prefer experience within an AOG.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical information such as manufacturer’s manuals, parts manuals and technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal customers, vendors and management. Able to effectively present information to vendors and top management.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Makes decisions daily on use of resources. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
