Job Description:

The Aircraft Mechanic II serves as a Quality Control Technical Inspector and performs Quality Control functions in an aircraft component backshops facility.


Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection of maintenance/repairs and ensures that work is completed according to service guidance and local procedures.
  • Maintains historical records and approves repairs to aircraft components including but not limited to prop and rotor components such as: rotor heads, rotor blades, dampers, bearings, control rods, stabilators, gearboxes, and other rotary wing components.
  • Inspects components and prepares documentation for parts being processed to enter or leave the shop.
  • Will generate and send for approval MECs to request maintenance that exceeds normal service guidance.
  • Conducts end-of-shift toolbox inspections.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • A minimum of 6 years in rotary wing aviation maintenance/backshop experience.
  • Previous aircraft inspector experience required
  • Very knowledgeable with aircraft and component historical records.
  • Very knowledgeable in ACN or equivalent electronic aircraft records systems.
  • Very knowledgeable with technical publications.
