The Aircraft Detailer at Melbourne Flight Training (MFT) plays a crucial role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of our aircraft fleet. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft are cleaned, polished, and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to the overall safety and presentation of our services. The detailer will work closely with the maintenance team to identify any areas that require special attention, ensuring that all aircraft are ready for flight operations. Key Responsibilities 

Aircraft Cleaning & Detailing

• Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of aircraft interiors and exteriors, including washing, waxing, and polishing surfaces.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

Window & Windshield Care

• Utilize appropriate cleaning products and techniques to ensure the safety and integrity of all aircraft materials.

Assist Flight Operations

Safety & Compliance

• Inspect aircraft for any signs of wear or damage and report findings to the maintenance team.
• Assist in the preparation of aircraft for inspections and other maintenance activities as needed.

Aircraft Cleaning Schedule Coordination

• Attention to detail is essential for identifying areas that need cleaning or maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards to ensure compliance with regulations during the detailing process.
• Effective communication skills are important for collaborating with the maintenance team and reporting any issues found during inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in aircraft detailing or a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground support equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in aircraft detailing or related training preferred.
• Experience working in a fast-paced aviation environment.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and regulations.

Working Conditions 

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and lifting. 
• Work with cleaning chemicals. 
• Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.
• Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
• Prolonged periods of standing and carrying materials.
• Must be able to perform work outdoors in all types of weather.
