STS Technical Services is hiring a Technical Illustrator in Melbourne, Florida.
We’re looking for a detail-driven and creative professional to join our team as a Technical Illustrator. In this role, you’ll help transform complex engineering concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging illustrations that support technical documentation—particularly exterior paint scheme manuals. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring our graphics are accurate, brand-aligned, and easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality, detailed illustrations to support exterior paint scheme documents and other technical publications
- Convert complex engineering and manufacturing data into user-friendly visual formats
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and technical writing to maintain visual accuracy
- Utilize Adobe Illustrator, CATIA, and other specialized graphics tools to create 2D and 3D technical visuals
- Organize and maintain illustration libraries and visual assets for future reuse
- Incorporate feedback into illustrations quickly and accurately to support production deadlines
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CATIA, and other technical graphics software
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of visual accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, documentation, and design teams
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and tight deadlines
- General computer literacy and familiarity with digital asset workflows and file formats
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a technical, manufacturing, or engineering environment
- Familiarity with 3D modeling or CAD applications
- Educational background in graphic design, industrial design, or a related field
