Software Engineer - GWS Fire Control

Software Engineer job in Huntsville, Alabama is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Aerospace/Defense company. In this full time, direct hire, salaried job you will support the Ground Based Midcourse (GMD) Weapon System (GWS). The successful candidate will perform software engineering activities on the on the GWS Fire Control (GFC) software team and will be part of the team that writes the software (currently ~1.5million lines of code) that controls the missile defense system that protects the US. The algorithms and capabilities implemented by the Engagement Planner team are mathematics and physics based complex solutions

Responsibilities:

• Work in a collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms
• Participate in code modernization translating Ada code to C++.
• Support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the GFC software team.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen with active Secret security clearance
• Bachelors degree of higher in a STEM related field.
• 5+ years with Bachelors degree; 3+ years with Masters degree
• Demonstrated ability to develop Software in Ada or C++ or Java
• Recent MATLAB and Python Experience
• Unix/Linux Operating System Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
• Experience with automated software requirements, testing and analysis
• Experience with the MDA GMD program
• Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
• Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
• Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development
