Drive the Future of Aviation at PDS Tech CommercialWere seeking a highly skilled FAA Engineering Technician (1st Shift) to join our elite aviation team as a Production Technical Operator 6. This is a pivotal role that combines expert-level hands-on technical work with leadership and innovation in support of FAA Repair Station operations. You wont just maintain quality—youll help define it.
As a senior-level technician, you’ll work closely with engineers and managers to drive production, testing, and problem-solving strategies that support both current and prototype aerospace components. Your input will shape processes, products, and even training programs—ensuring the safe return of aircraft to service and the advancement of aviation technologies.
What You’ll Be DoingOverhaul, repair, modify, and test complex aircraft electronic and electromechanical components
Troubleshoot and analyze components to FAA standards and provide recommendations to return them to service
Support the production and testing of new and prototype products under general supervision
Create detailed work instructions, test procedures, and training documentation
Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure compliance and precision
Collaborate with design engineers to flag and resolve product design issues
Lead or guide peers in test methodology, inspection practices, and quality assurance
Develop and refine custom testing tools and interface systems for automated test environments
Facilitate smooth transitions from prototype to full production by offering technical insight and support
Identify process bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and help drive continuous production excellence
What You Need to SucceedRequired Qualifications:High school diploma and post-secondary technical training, or equivalent experience
5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace electronics or a related manufacturing environment
Deep knowledge of FAA Repair Station practices, testing, and rework standards
Proven ability to interpret complex technical documentation and customer specifications
Experience in troubleshooting and repairing advanced electronic/mechanical assemblies
Strong communication skills and experience mentoring or guiding other technicians
Capable of designing, implementing, and documenting work procedures and test plans
Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting prototype-to-production transitions
Familiarity with custom circuit design and automated testing systems
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical process control, and reporting
Ability to develop and deliver technical training programs
