The Director of Operational Engineering at Signature Aviation is responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the organizations FBO operational systems. This role plays a critical part in aligning system performance with business objectives, driving process improvements, and managing key resources and technology to support company goals. Additionally, this role is responsible for defining the long-term vision and technology roadmap for our FBO operational systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excel at building collaborative teams, think strategically, and specialize in process optimization.

• Manage day-to-day activities of operational systems to ensure seamless functionality and efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and address any operational challenges proactively.
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational system capabilities and align them with business objectives.
• Identify and implement improvements to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance.
• Utilize best practices, methodologies, and emerging technologies to advance system effectiveness.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues to maintain system reliability.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with operational systems.
• Ensure business continuity by developing contingency plans for critical system functions.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of professionals involved in operational systems management.
• Provide training, resources, and support to ensure team effectiveness.
• Lead projects related to system upgrades, integrations, and performance enhancements.
• Ensure timely execution of initiatives while managing cross-functional collaboration.
• Manage the operational systems budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control.
• Oversee relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service quality.
• Develop and implement FBO standards to ensure operational technology utilization efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, senior management, and external partners to align operational strategies.
• Provide regular reports and insights on system performance, improvements, and key metrics.
• Analyze data related to operational systems to identify trends, performance gaps, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
• Partner with information security to ensure compliance with industry standards and potential threats.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in operational systems management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Additional knowledge and skills:

• Strong understanding of operational process optimization, project management, and technology-driven solutions.
• Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
