As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team you will support daily and strategic automation initiatives within the framework of GE Aerospace’s Flight Deck Lean system. This role has both people leadership and technical responsibilities.Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- People Leader: Lead the automation hourly technicians providing leadership in activities, initiatives, projects and their professional development.
- Project management: Manage multiple projects and initiatives, including project reviews, tracking, communication and coordination with cross functional teams and stack holders.
- Projects: Lead and assist with automation system concept, design, build, integration, and commissioning. Including mechanical designs & builds, equipment specifications and selection, procurement, factory acceptance, system fabrication, and system integration. This applies to both internally developed and purchased automation systems.
- Production support: Support automation systems uptime and robustness. Identify and execute on opportunities for continuous improvement. Provide oversight to the team in supporting down time events through the eAndon system.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing experience) + Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing experience
Desired Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing technical role.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, etc.
- Leadership and mentoring skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with common shop tools and equipment.
- Ability to handle assignments with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication and PC skills.
- Hands-on ability and willingness to ensure functionality during assembly and testing.

- Exposure to a wide variety of production machinery.
- Strong knowledge and experience with mechanical drive systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems.
- Expertise in designing components with tight machine tolerances.
- EOAT (End of Arm Tooling) design experience.
- Experience directing and coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
