Cybersecurity Test & Evaluation Specialist

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $47.81-$52.81/Hour

Secret Clearance Required to Start

Join a highly skilled team developing state-of-the-art Cybersecurity/Information Assurance systems for the U.S. Submarine Force. This role focuses on test, evaluation, and design verification to ensure compliance with functional and technical requirements for mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze requirements to design and document validation methods.

• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and reports.

• Conduct Verification & Validation (V&V) for software, hardware, and firmware changes.

• Support informal and formal test events in lab and operational environments.

• Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects with engineering teams.

• Configure test labs per design documentation and port maps.

• Install, verify, and troubleshoot IA software at lab and shipboard locations.

• Test network configurations, protocols (UDP, TCP/IP, ICMP, encryption), and system interfaces.

• Operate in fast-paced, integrated DoD product development teams.

• Assemble and test computer hardware as needed.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law

• Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Technology, or related field, OR equivalent experience (4 years).

• Experience: 5+ years relevant experience (or Master’s + 3 years).

• Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire.

• Required Skills/Experience:

  • Navy submarine or surface combat systems background (Fire Control Technician (FT), Sonar Technician (ST), Electronics Technician (ET), or Information Systems Technician (IT)).

  • 5–10 years with AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, AN/BLQ-10, or similar systems.

  • Software testing, defect analysis, and requirements validation.

  • Networking fundamentals (UDP, TCP/IP, ICMP, encryption).

  • Basic Linux command-line proficiency.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Strike Software (TTWCS, TCIP, MDS).

• Test equipment assembly and troubleshooting.
